Commission FAQ

Common questions about custom pet portraits.

How much does a custom pet portrait cost?

Prices start at $200 for a 12 by 12 portrait of one animal, $400 for 16 by 20 (1 to 2 animals), and $1,200 for 30 by 40 (1 to 4 animals). Additional sizes are available on request.

How does the deposit work?

You pay a 50% deposit to begin your commission. The remaining 50% is due after you approve the finished painting and before it ships.

What photo should I send?

A clear, well lit photo where your pet's face and features are easy to see works best. Multiple angles help too, but one good photo is enough to get started.

How long does a custom portrait take?

Custom portraits typically take 6 to 8 weeks to complete after your deposit and details are confirmed.

Can I request a specific pose or scene?

Yes. Many customers ask for their pet playing an instrument, dressed as a favorite character, or placed in a New Orleans scene. Share your idea and Ocean will bring it to life.

What pets can Ocean paint?

Dogs, cats, and just about any pet. Ocean also paints people and celebrities on request.

Can I get my custom portrait as a print?

Custom commissions are painted as an original on canvas. Prints are not offered for custom pieces, only for the existing gallery designs shown elsewhere on the site.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes, every piece is carefully packed, fully insured, and shipped worldwide.
