How a custom commission works, start to finish.

Text Ocean a Photo or Idea

To begin the process simply text Ocean a photo and/or idea.

Work Out the Details

Together you and Ocean will figure out exactly what you want. Size, Theme, Price, etc.

Pay a 50% Deposit

Then you will pay a 50% deposit to begin work.

Ocean Paints Your Piece

The custom painting will take 6-8 weeks to complete at which time Ocean will text you a finished photo for your approval.

Approve and Finalize

You can then change anything you want changed before paying the balance and shipping.

Custom commission pricing depends on size and complexity, and is worked out directly with Ocean once he sees your photo and idea. A 50% deposit begins the work, with the remaining balance and shipping due once you approve the finished piece.

What photo should I send?

A clear, well lit photo where your pet's face and features are easy to see works best. Multiple angles help too, but one good photo is enough to get started.

How long does a custom portrait take?

Custom portraits typically take 6 to 8 weeks to complete after your deposit and details are confirmed.

Can I request a specific pose or scene?

Yes. Many customers ask for their pet playing an instrument, dressed as a favorite character, or placed in a New Orleans scene. Share your idea and Ocean will bring it to life.

What pets can Ocean paint?

Dogs, cats, and just about any pet. Ocean also paints people and celebrities on request.

Can I get my custom portrait as a print?

Custom commissions are painted as an original on canvas. Prints are not offered for custom pieces, only for the existing gallery designs shown elsewhere on the site.
